Here at Brough Primary School, good relationships are central to everything we do in school and form the backbone of our ethos so that we are a happy, caring and safe school. Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) is fundamental to our ethos ensuring children learn about relationships, emotions, loking after themselves, different families, sexuality and health. We aim for the children to acquire an age appropriate level of knowledge in order to develop their beliefs, values and attitudes.
RSE is taught as explicit lessons through PSHE, our science curriculum and within our physical education curriculum as well as other areas of the curriculum as part of the day-to-day life of the school. The school uses the web based planning and assessment tool SCARF: Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience, Friendship to ensure teachers have a wealth of resources to build programmes to match pupils' needs.
