Music! Music! Music! Music! Music! Music! Music!
Music is a unique way of communicating with each other that can inspire and motivate children. It is a vehicle for personal expression and can also play an important part in helping children to feel part of, not only a school, but also a community. At Brough Primary School we provide opportunities for all children to create, play, perform and enjoy music, and to develop the skills to critically appreciate a wide variety of musical forms. We use the Charanga music scheme to teach music as part of the curriculum and we have the East Riding School’s Music Service instrumental teachers in weekly to teach a range of instruments. The children have the opportunity to sing in the School Choir and to be part of the Recorder Club and each year group also takes part in a year-group performance, acting and singing, during the school year. During the Summer term we are really fortunate also in having the opportunity for Year 3 to take part in the Big Sing in Bridlington and our Key Stage 1 children enjoy a fabulous day at the Little Big Sing, also in Bridlington!
