Extra-Curricular Activities (See also, Sports)
Our school council meets regularly to consider the pupils views and perceptions as they experience life in our school. They get involved in interviews for new teaching staff often asking some fairly tough questions. Most recently the school council wanted to know how new teacher's might ensure all children in their class make expected progress! The school council is ably supported in their activities by Mrs Prescott.
Mrs Francescon, our Science Co-ordinator, kindly offers to run an amazing and brilliant, fun and fantastic Science Club for Year Fives. It's held in her classroom so the children don't have far to walk, moreover they can also observe all the colourful and informative Science posters she has decorated her classroom with.
To summarise, Science Club is an awesome after-school club, furthermore if you are given the opportunity to go you must take it because you will remember it for years to come!
Junior Road Safety Officers
Our commited Brough Junior Road Safety Officers work hard to promote healthy, sustainable travel to school.
They have helped promote walking, scooting, cycling and using the Park and Stride - from Morrison's car park- by having promotional weeks and competitions. They have organised debates and worked with younger children and even Lollipop the Road Safety Bunny! Watch out for up-coming competitions.
'Smoothies' - also known as Drama Club- is a club that takes place every lunch time with Mrs Coppini and Miss Butler supervising. 'Smoothies' is for children (of all ages) that feel they are lonely or they don't think they have many friends. I shall know as I, Rachael, am part of 'Smoothies'.
Mrs Coppini, a kind and caring, loving and generous, teaching assisant dedicates her time to the children, such as me, when feeling down.
From Space Hoppers to Doll Houses, we have them all! There's never a time when we are bored. Here are a few games the members of Drama club enjoy:
- Hungery Hippos
- The Big Feet
- Muppet the Puppet
- The Travils
